These high school students were able to reach over 1,500 residents across the county with their creative and engaging projects. 🎨 We graduated our fourth Climate Crew cohort, a group of 11 young women from across the County of Maui. Throughout the 2022 legislative session, we engaged nearly 600 Climate Advocates and facilitated the submission of 114 personal letters of testimony from community members. 🌟We successfully advocated for key energy bills at the legislature, including a measure to set a goal to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030, and another to require state buildings to lead by example through energy efficiency. Governor viewed the challenges and opportunities for action. Livestreamed on KHON2, the forum highlighted how prospective candidates for Governor and Lt. 🎬 After years in the virtual realm, we were able to connect in person again to host a candidate forum on climate and clean energy ahead of the 2022 elections.
